Nintendo Switch User ID is a Must Before the Console Arrives in March; Here's How to Register Now
Louise BonquinNintendo Switch is introducing the Nintendo Online Service where users can subscribe to a plan for game access. They will be required to register and create their Nintendo Account to get their user ID. The newly added account is expected to bring many noticeable changes and improvements to the service.
Likewise, Nintendo is encouraging people who will purchase Nintendo Switch to register and have their Nintendo Account before the hybrid console is released in March. The Japanese electronics maker stated that having a user ID for the console is important because it will serve as security when they go online.
According to Kotaku, there are now a few account types that Nintendo console users can sign up for and they are used for various purposes. Two examples are the Nintendo Account, which will give access to most of Nintendo services, and the Nintendo Network ID, which is used for Miiverse, Wii U's and 3DS' eshops.
All first-timers are required to sign up for Nintendo account before they can pick their user ID. It should be noted that this registration is very different from Network ID that the company required for Wii U and 3DS users.
To create the Nintendo ID, gamers just need to go to the Nintendo Account page and enter the necessary information. After completing the first stage, they can now pick their unique username to use forever.
The Japanese electronics and gaming company stated that the Nintendo services will be free when it launches because some of the key features are not yet installed at that time. Later, the service will become a paid subscription. The rate is yet to be determined.
Nintendo Switch is set to arrive along with "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" on March 3. The game title is said to be the biggest one yet from the brand.
