'Pokemon Go' Trading Code Disappeared With The Latest Update; What Happened?
Keisuke AkioThe programming code for Trading in "Pokemon Go" has been discovered missing. Players are now worried that the highly anticipated trading feature of the game will be delayed, or worse, will get canceled.
Data miners recently discovered that something is missing in the "Pokemon Go's" game code. This is sad news for trainers who have long been waiting for new features to be introduced -- in this case it's trading.
Trading Code and Infrastructure Removed
"Pokemon Go" Hub reported that the "Pokemon Go" 0.57.2 update lose the trading code in its core data. Fans can see the specific snippets of code that were removed on its official website. The more alarming part, however, is that the trading infrastructure was totally removed from the code.
The proposed gaming system for the "Pokemon Go," if the primary code in the game is to be interpreted, involves three steps. The first is polling for a trade request, which is reciprocated with another poll for a response. In addition, there is even an option to support trading offers.
"Pokemon Go" Hub, however, reiterated that the removal of the trading code does not mean that the trading feature is forever gone. It simply means Niantic Labs removed a code that is not currently being used in the game, says Video Games Republic.
In addition, removing the code does not affect "Pokemon Go's" gameplay since the trading system is not yet implemented. One theory says that Niantic removed the code in order to go through it and get ready for an active launch of the trading feature. It is also possible that Niantic programmers removed the code as part of the standard cleanup and that trading is not any closer than it was four months ago when the code was originally added, says WWG.
