‘Sense8’ Cast Member Jamie Clayton Talks About Transgender Visibility; Is The Show Getting Cancelld After Season 2?
Kate Wales"Sense8" cast members are making the headlines following controversies surrounding the theme of the show. Jamie Clayton who portrays as Nomi in the Netflix series recently expressed her thoughts about LGBT visibility on the small screen. Brian J. Smith who plays as Will, on the other hand, claimed that the impending cancellation of "Sense8" is yet to be decided.
During a panel conversation with "The OA" co-creator Zal Batmanglij and "Orange is the New Black's" Uzo Aduba, Clayton voiced out that what she likes about the streaming giant's "The OA" is how the plot goes on without focusing on the LGBT character's transitioning. Speaking to Batmanglij, she said, "You included a trans character but it had zero to do with the story," NewNowNext reported.
The transgender Sense8 cast member continued to explain that that's the way it should be as transgender people just exist. She means to say that there should be no explanation as to why they should be part of the show. Like her character Nomi, her gender has nothing to do with her becoming one of the "Sense8."
Meanwhile, "Sense8" Season 2 is slated to air in May but earlier reports already claimed that Netflix is thinking of canceling the show after the next season. However, another "Sense8" cast member Smith clarified that the final decision has not been placed yet. That said, he seems to remain hopeful for Netflix to pick up more "Sense8" episodes as he believes that there is more story to tell following the sequel.
"I think we'll all know whether or not we should do a third season. I hope we do. I can say there's definitely more story to tell after season two. We're not done with it and I hope we get to finish it, I really do," the actor told Digital Spy. Smith also clarified that the fate of "Sense8" rests on the fans and Netflix.
"Sense8" Season 2 may or may not be followed by another season but what's important in the meantime is for fans to support the show when it comes out on May 5. For more updates on your favorite Netflix hit, don't forget to check here at MobilenApps.
