A new report is claiming that the new 13.3-inch Retina Mac Book Pros and updated all-in-one iMacs are now being shipped by one of Apple's supply chains. No word on how accurate this report is. However, if true, it is good news for those looking for an upgrade.
According to the folks at Digitimes, who were tipped off with this information by an anonymous source as usual, a 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display is expected to launch in either September or October, which is during the time Apple plans to announce the iPhone 5 and a possible new line of iPod Touch devices.
Mass production on the new iMac has been postponed due to panel yield production issues that have been plaguing the new iMac for some time. Apple's plan to launch three iMac models are now in danger. It is likely the company might have to cut down on the amount of iMacs it plans to throw out to the public.
Apple fans could be in for a treat, however, as the new iMacs are expected to come loaded with Intel Ivy Bridge processors inside, along with a massive 27-inch display to watch all your "video" collections. The panels in these iMacs, as expected, are high definition along with a redesigned chassis. It won't look too different from the previous iMacs, but the difference will still be noticeable.
Apple's iMac is the number one all-in-one computer on the market, and rightfully so. Reviews of the iMacs when compared to other all-in-ones running Windows, have been far better with only HP Touch Smart 9300 Elite coming close to fight neck-to-neck with the Apple iMac.
With an upgraded chip and a bigger display, the new iMac should be able to lead the pack in the race to become the best all-in-one computer in 2012.
