Find Out How the Cast of 'Game of Thrones' Suffers for Its fans; Arya Meets a 'Familiar Face' [Spoilers]
S. TurlaAside from epic stories, shocking revelations, and an endless body-count, "Game of Thrones" is a show that also features a cast and crew willing to suffer to make sure episodes are filmed on time. Arya Stark will also allegedly meet an old friend in the upcoming seventh season of the show.
According to Page Six, "severe winter weather in Iceland" made filming quite difficult for the cast and crew of "Game of Thrones." Some of the actors who braved the winter cold include Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Joe Dempsie (Gendry), Rory McCann (Sandor "the Hound"), and Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane).
The cast and crew "have been shooting amid 100-mph winds and a minus 25 Centigrade (minus 13 Fahrenheit) wind chill." An insider on set shared, "Daylight is scarce here [five to six hours a day]. Super jeeps are needed to bring in equipment, and much is then transported by hand... The actors are made up and dressed in hotels and driven to location 90 percent ready to shoot... Shelter is provided by 'Russian tents' that are anchored down, and able to be heated, and [can] withstand 100 mph winds."
The winds made it difficult to "record the dialogue between characters." The insider added, "High winds caused words to be 'whipped away' - shouting became the norm. And despite the cold, there was an issue with a lack of snow in the lowland locations." They continued, "There are small hotels in the remote areas, and often the only guests are the shoot crew."
Meanwhile, Metro reports that Arya could be reuniting with an old friend. The "Game of Thrones" fan website Watchers on the Wall has reportedly revealed that Instinct Animals, an animal training company that has previously worked with the show, posted two photos on their Instagram account. The images showed two wolves who are "ready for work," and the post included the hashtag #WinterIsComing.
The Telegraph reported that the photos were posted when Arya (Maisie Williams) was allegedly shooting for "Game of Thrones" Season 7. One wolf looked like Quigley, Jon's direwolf, and the other looked a lot like Nymeria, Arya's direwolf.
Rumors say that some members of the Night's Watch will travel north of the Wall "on a mission" in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. HBO has yet to announce the premiere of the show's upcoming season, but "Game of Thrones" will allegedly air sometime in summer 2017.
