'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Release Is Unconfirmed; Anime's Executive Was Only Misquoted
Coco DollangangerRecently, Sui Ishida's "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 was reportedly to arrive this year as revealed by Viz Media Senior Director of Sales and Marketing Kevin Hamric in an interview. Hamric said that apart from "One Punch Man" season 2, fans can also expect third season release of the Japanese dark fantasy manga series.
"Nothing that's been recently released, but 'One Punch Man' is coming back on with season two. There's going to be another season of 'Tokyo Ghoul' coming shortly. Later in the year, those would be the bigger releases on the anime side," Hamric told IcV2 in a recent interview discussing about the company's gigs this year for all fans. However, it appears that this is not the case as just few hours following the interview, the studio immediately clarified with Anime News Network that Hamric was only ‘misquoted' about the release of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3.
Therefore, the statement of Hamric on the alleged release this year of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 has been corrected already in the IcV2's article replacing "Tokyo Ghoul" with "My Hero Academia." The gaff left all fans disappointed as they have rejoiced over Hamric's statement in the interview and they are all wondering how did IcV2 write "Tokyo Ghoul" if it was meant to be "My Hero Academia."
Fans also speculated that Hamric was actually thinking of "My Hero Academia" but said "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 instead. Nonetheless, it still appears that there is a big chance that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 would still arrive this year and Viz Media prefers to be mum about it at this time just yet and will later announce it once everything has been put to order.
"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 remains one of the highly-anticipated anime series in spite of disappointing fans because it departed from the events from its manga origin events. Unfortunately, fans may have to remain guessing the manga series' return hopefully in the near future.
