Samsung Galaxy X Prototypes Gearing Up For 2017's Second Half; Alleged Specs & Features Revealed
Keisuke AkioLeaked images of the Samsung Galaxy X Prototype have been seen around the web and it is expected to hit the market in the second semester of this year. Galaxy X is Samsung's trademark for the first foldable phone in the world of mobile phones.
For quite some time now and for several times already, Galaxy X has been thrown around. Samsung is still doing a lot of efforts to make this device the first to be launched a foldable phone. Though the company has not talked anything about this upcoming phone, rumors said that before the second half of 2017, this device's first prototypes would officially be unveiled.
Trusted Reviews reported that Samsung is still occupied in making the Galaxy X's first few prototypes. It was also said in the report that the South Korean company has done ordering the needed parts for 2,000 to 3,000 prototypes that they are preparing for the testing process. This will take place soon as expected by Samsung.
The feasibility of a foldable phone in the mobile market is the main goal in doing this kind of test. In addition, Express reported that the Galaxy X would have two screens. However, the arrangement of two screens or how it would look like is not clear yet.
No matter how would that be, the device will have an OLED display which 180 degrees foldable and can be unfolded, reported Android Central. Though this concept may be new and refreshing to the tech world, Samsung has still issues to ponder upon to, such as the longevity of the display. The company must keep in mind that frequent folding and unfolding of the device will put a lot of stress not only on the screen but also to other components of the phone.
Up to now, the South Korean company has not commented yet the official date when the Galaxy X will be released. According to earlier reports, Samsung is planning to unveil this device later this year. Only a few hundred thousand units only will be available. On the contrary, some expressed that the phone is not ready yet and another year is still needed by Samsung to make Galaxy X a reality.
