On Oct. 16 Apple sent out invitations for its latest special event on Oct. 23 in which the company is speculated to launch its much-awaited iPad Mini.
The invitation features the top of the Apple logo in white color with a number of other colors around and over the Logo. The invitation reads "We've got a little more to show you."
Attendance to the event will be by invitation only and is slated to be held at the California Theater in San Jose starting at 10am California time.
Apple is expected to launch a smaller version of the iPad, which has been dubbed in the market as iPad Mini, along with a slimmer iMac and a Mac Mini at the event.
Previously, rumors indicated that Apple will host an event on Oct. 17 and invites will be sent on Oct. 10. The predicted invitations of Oct. 17 event failed to arrive on Oct. 10 as anticipated. However, AllThingsD, citing trusted sources, had reported that "Apple will hold a special event this month, at which it will showcase a new, smaller iPad. People familiar with Apple's plans tell us that the company will unveil the so-called "iPad mini" on Oct. 23 at an invitation-only event," which has now come true.
Rumors of an iPad Mini have been surfacing on the Internet for several months now. Speculations suggest that the iPad Mini will sport a smaller 7.85-inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution and a density of 326 pixels per inch (ppi) and no Retina display. The tablet is expected to feature an A5 processor, 512MB of RAM, and the smaller Lightning dock connector. The iPad Mini is also expected to be thinner and will likely include a powerful battery.
Some rumors have also suggested that the iPad Mini will be available in 8/16/32/64 GB with pricing starting from €249 ($322 approximately).
If the rumors are to be believed, then the iPad Mini will pack impressive features at a very competitive price which will compete aggressively with rival tablets available in the market. However, time will tell if the iPad Mini can receive plaudits from iFans and tech gurus.
