Samsung smartphones are gaining increased popularity and the company has also been very busy adding new handsets to its smartphone profile. Rumors indicate that Samsung is reportedly returning to the Galaxy S2 smartphone with a new and improved version slated for early next year, which will be called Galaxy S2 Plus.
Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus have been surfacing for a while now. It is expected that the smartphone will have a 1.4GHz dual-core processor. The smartphone would come packed with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and the latest version of the Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. The smartphone will possibly have 8GB of storage and will be available to users in Chic White and Dark Blue colors.
"The Chic White version of the Galaxy S2 Plus to arrive from week 3 onward, while the Dark Blue shade of the Galaxy S2 Plus is set to hit the mass markets a fortnight later," reported Uber Gizmo.
Samsung has not officially confirmed any specifications or expected launch of the Galaxy S2 Plus, so users will have to wait to see what changes the company brings in to the smartphone.
The original S2 launched around 18 months from now is still selling well with some mobile carriers and is in TechRadar's 20 best mobile phones in the world list.
Samsung has revealed the Galaxy S3 mini and the Galaxy Premier recently, which may have been a reason that the company held back the launch of the Galaxy S2 Plus.
However, recent rumors indicate the launch of Galaxy S4 during in 2013 as well. It will be interesting to see if Samsung launches both the smartphones at the same time. Users will hope that the Galaxy S2 Plus has a similar price tag as the Galaxy S3 mini and the Galaxy Premier.
The Galaxy S2 has been one of the most popular smartphones for Samsung. The successor of Galaxy S2, the Galaxy S3, has now become one of the best-selling smartphone for the company.
With the Galaxy S3 still selling like hot cakes time will tell if the Galaxy S2 Plus will find a place for itself in the smartphone market.
