It seems like cyber Monday all over again, as Amazon seeks to ramp up the holiday sales of its Kindle Fire HD 8.9 tablet, offering the tablet at a $50 discount.
Not to be outdone, Best Buy has dropped the price of the iPhone 5 to less than $150 and the iPhone 4S to less than $50. But hurry, stocks for both devices are limited, with Amazon ending its promotion today and the Best Buy promotion only good until January 5, 2013.
To take advantage of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 deal, head on over to Amazon and add either the 16GB or the 32GB tablet to your shopping cart.
Once you get to the checkout, you need to enter in the promo code FIREHD89 to take advantage of this one day offer.
The Kindle Fire HD offers stunning 1920x1200 HD display, Dolby audio, a 1.5GHZ dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, a front-facing HD camera and free unlimited cloud storage for all your Amazon content.
You'll also get access to Amazon's ecosystem of over 22 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, books, audiobooks and apps.
The 16GB version of the 8.9-inch tablet is on sale for $299 while the 32GB version is available for $369.
At Best Buy the 16GB iPhone 5 is yours for $149 while the 32GB version costs $249. The older iPhone 4S is only $49 for the 16GB version and $149 for the 32GB version.
The iPhone 5, the latest smartphone from Apple features a 4-inch Retina display, 1.3GHZ A6 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera and the iOS 6 operating system.
The iPhone 4S is a 3.5-inch device with an 800MHZ dual-core A5 processor, 512MB RAM and 8MP rear camera with HD video recording capability. It too runs Apple's latest iOS 6 operating system.
However, if you want to take advantage of the deals at Best Buy, you'll have to lock yourself into a two-year contract with one of the carriers: AT&T, Verizon Wireless or Sprint. What's more, the majority of the phones are not available for shipping, so you'll have to find a store near you to pick one up.
