While the Android and iOS versions of the popular Facebook app have been getting regular features and experience updates from the company, it doesn’t mean that Facebook has forgotten about its Microsoft-based Windows Phone 8 users.

Per reports, the company has now released a new version of the Facebook app for the users of Windows Phone 8, with the overall experience becoming faster and smoother on a Windows Phone 8-based smartphone than it ever was.

Once updated to the latest refresh, users will notice that the new version of the application is appreciably faster than the previous iterations. While the looks seem untouched, which some users will find a good thing, previous users of Windows Phone, who are stuck for the moment on version 7.5, will have to wait a bit more until they see their client get a similar update.

The new version 4.1.0.0 is also said to bring a whole host of noteworthy performance enhancements. The changes have been brought about keeping in mind when using any social app on-the-go, the speed and receptiveness of an app is an important factor in the overall user experience. Nonetheless, both areas have been looked into with a dedicated eye, and the app now feels smoother than ever before.

“While Windows Phone has always come under fire for its lack of app range, once thing it always has had in its favor is a slick interface. Not all apps have always complied with this theme, though, and Facebook is a prime example of an app with a track record for sluggishness and bugs,” a Redmond Pie report stats. “Those days look well and truly of the past however, and if you’ve been waiting for Facebook to bring its Windows Phone app up to scratch, I’d label this – cautiously, of course – as the one.”

Facebook for Windows Phone, per the official page, “makes it easy to stay connected and share information with friends. You can post status updates, receive Live Tile updates, check your news feed, review upcoming events, check in to places, manage your inbox, upload photos, publish notes, accept friend requests, pin Places and Messages as Tiles, and look at your friends’ photos, walls and info.”

However, with the latest upgrades in place now, users of Windows Phone 8 will surely appreciate the performance boost of the app.
