Xbox gamers can now get achievements, courtesy Wordament, which debuted on iOS recently. Microsoft's popular word game, Wordament, has been on Windows Phone for a while and the game is now available for iOS devices with full Xbox Live integration with friends lists as well as achievements.

The object of the word game is to make words out of a set of letters appearing in a 4 x 4 grid. Players compete in real time and the player who creates the most words during each round becomes the winner. Players get two minutes to find the most words and each board is unique and bonuses are given for longer words.

"Each board is unique and alternating rounds offer challenges such as two- and three-letter digram tiles and theme puzzles. You can choose to go for the bonus points, try to find the most words possible or earn scoring bonuses by finding longer words. How you play and choose to compete is up to you!" per the app description on Apple App store.

Gamers playing the game on iOS connect to the same servers and play with those that are using Windows Phone and Windows 8.

The game also features Xbox Live integration and to play the game, a user should preferably have an Xbox Live account. Once a user is signed into their Live account, they can also earn up to 50 Gamerscore from 10 achievements. If a user does not have an Xbox Live account they can still play the game as a guest. However, guests do not rank in the leaderboards but this option offers a quick and fun way to see what the game is all about.

Users can download the Wordament version 1.0 as a 9.6MB file directly from Apple App store. The app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (third generation), iPod touch (fourth generation), iPod touch (fifth generation), and iPad. To run the app, the iDevice should have iOS 4.3 or later.
