Rumors were surfacing recently about the ZTE Nubia Z5 and now the Chinese smartphone maker has put an end to all speculations by officially launching the Nubia Z5, which offers impressive specifications.
The Nubia Z5 features high-end specifications which make the smartphone robust enough to compete with handsets offered by other smartphones makers like HTC, LG, Samsung etc.
The Nubia Z5 sports a 5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 443 pixels per inch. (ppi), making the smartphone ZTE's first smartphone to have 1080p display. A 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) processor powers the smartphone.
The Nubia Z5 is equipped with a whopping 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone will have 32GB of on-board storage and 2GB of RAM. A powerful 3000mAh battery will fire up the Nubia Z5.
The Nubia Z5 will pack in Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. The device includes HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Near-Field Communication (NFC), and Bluetooth 4.0.
The handset weighs 4.44 ounces (126 grams) and measures 5.43 x 2.72 x 0.30 inches (138 x 69.2 x 7.6 mm). Officially launched on Dec. 26, the Nubia Z5 will be released in Jan. 2013 initially for the Chinese market only. However, ZTE smartphones are available in various parts of the world so the handset may be released internationally at a later date.
ZTE will offer the Nubia Z5 in white and black colors. Rumors also suggest that a titanium color version of the handset may make its appearance soon, which will be priced at 7890 yuan (around $1,265).
