Samsung has been in news in recent days with a brand new Galaxy S4 and Note 3 being rumored almost every day, following the previous success of the Galaxy S3. However, that doesn't mean that the S3 is completely out of the picture, and new reports are here to support that.
Per reports, a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 is said to be in works from T-Mobile. The device is believed to be an LTE version of the popular Android-based smartphone. Previously, S3 fans had seen nearly every possible combination of the phone with the device arriving in the past with Exynos 4 chips, with 2GB of RAM, and with what seems like nearly every combination of radio support.
However, the popularity of the phone refuses to die out with even new versions of the device said to be in talks, and this time with an LTE feature from T-Mobile. It is to be noted that T-Mobile is the only major carrier in the U.S. that doesn't have an LTE network, and now with the new S3 said to be in works, all that might change.
The report was first confirmed by Bluetooth SIG, with the report stating that the new device is called SGH-T999L. "The Samsung Mobile Phone SGH-T999L is GSM phone with Bluetooth wireless technology. The device has integrated Bluetooth Version 4.0 technology, which allows users to connect wirelessly to optional, compatible hands-free accessories such as Bluetooth technology enabled headsets and car kits. The bluetooth in this phone supports HSP, A2DP, AVRCP, GAVDP, HFP1.5, OPP, PBAP, MAP, PAN, HID etc," the report states.
T-Mobile's Galaxy S3 users are already familiar with the model number SGH-T999, and the device supports HSPA+ on the carrier's AWS band. This also makes it perfect for use on some Canadian networks. However, unlike all the other S3 models released in North America, the T999 lacks an LTE radio.
The Bluetooth SIG listing states that the new device's model number is SGH-T999L, and while there's no hard evidence about how or in what ways it might differ from the first T999, but the letter "L" at the end is fueling all kinds of speculations that it could be an LTE-enabled version of its predecessor.
T-Mobile's current official goal is to roll-out its LTE network and cover roughly 100 million people by mid-2013.
