Samsung's much-touted Galaxy S3 has been one of the hottest selling smartphones of 2012 and now, per reports, a new battery kit that increases the battery capacity of the smartphone is available for pre-order online.

Earlier in December, Samsung released an extended battery kit for the Galaxy S3, which would increase the battery capacity to 3,000mAh, giving users and additional 900mAh. Now, reports indicate that the kit is up for grabs from Amazon Germany and will ship from Jan. 5, 2013.

Retailer "1A Electronic House" has listed the extended battery kit for the Galaxy S3 on Amazon.de and is retailing it for €39.90 (inclusive of taxes). The extended battery kit can be pre-order for either the Galaxy S3 in either Pebble Blue or Marble White versions. The seller notes that the product will ship Jan. 5, 2013 onwards.

Additionally, a UK-based retailer MobileFun is selling the extended battery kit for £39.99 ($79 approximately).

"This battery has a capacity of 3000mAh, which is an additional 900mAh compared to the original 2100mAh Samsung battery. This helps to provide more battery power in order for you to have more talk time or power to play games and videos for longer," says the product description on MobileFun.

Galaxy S3 owners will now be able to extend the battery of the smartphone by replacing the existing 2100mAh battery with a 3000mAh thanks to the extended battery kit.

The kit comes with a 3000mAh battery and a back cover for the Galaxy S3 in either Marble White or Pebble Blue colors. As the battery is bigger in capacity, it is also bigger in size. To accommodate the bigger size, the battery comes with a specially built replacement back cover for the smartphone.

If you use your Galaxy S3 very often and find that you have to recharge the battery frequently, then maybe you should try out the extended battery kit.
