China-based smartphone maker Huawei has been hogging the headlines for a while now, thanks to its triad of devices - the Ascend W1, Ascend D2, and Ascend Mate - which are slated to make and official appearance at the CES 2013, which is just a few days away. Now, per reports, official press shots of the three smartphones have leaked online prior to their launch.
Apart from a series of leaks, the smartphones have been in the news, courtesy Weibo posts or fleeting glimpses, courtesy Richard Yu, the company's Chairman of Devices.
Now, tech site Unwired View has got its hands on the official press shots of the Ascend W1, Ascend Mate, and Ascend D2, courtesy well-known tipster @evleaks.
One of the leaked images (below) shows the Ascend W1 in four hues: pink, white, blue, and gray. According to @evleaks, the Ascend W1 will feature a 4-inch display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and a 2000mAh battery. The Ascend W1 is the first WP8 device from Huawei.
Another leaked press shot shows the 6.1-inch Ascend Mate phablet in blazing glory. Per the tipster, the phablet will have a 720p resolution and will be powered by a 3800mAh, and not 4000mAh battery as rumored earlier.
The third leaked press shot is of the Ascend D2, which has a 5-inch Full HD display (1080p). The smartphone will likely feature a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and have a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Recently, images of the Ascend D2 had popped up online and hinted that the smartphone was 9.9mm thick, had a 3000mAh battery, and weighed 170gms.
With the leaks and rumors gathering steam as the launch of the Huawei devices nears, it will be interesting to see what other surprises CES 2013 has in store for us.
