It looks like LG has a few tricks up its sleeve when it comes to what kind of devices it will launch at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2013) next week. LG will offer more than just a few new UHD (Ultra High-Definition) TVs, ultrabooks and laptops. It is also rumored to be launching a few new Android smartphones and a 7-inch tablet.
According to a GSMArena report, LG is aiming to take on Motorola's RAZR M with an Android smartphone, which has an edge-to-edge display. This smarphone is expected to have a 4.7-inch screen and an edge-to-edge display with a bezel measuring around 1mm.
LG is also looking to take on the current king of the phablet world, Samsung's Galaxy Note 2. LG's phablet will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch, full HD 1920 X 1080 display with a pixel density of 403 ppi (pixels per inch), making it one of the sharpest screens on any smartphone currently available. This will give LG's phablet the edge over the Samsung Galaxy Note 2's display that packs a 5.5-inch screen, 1280 x 720 display, and 267 ppi. However, LG won't be alone in taking on Samsung's phablet at CES 2013, as Sony is also expected to launch its own phablet at the event.
The third rumored device will be a 7-inch tablet with a 1920 x 1200 resolution display and 324ppi. This sharp screen has a higher ppi than Apple's iPad mini and Google's Nexus 7, two of the most popular 7-inch-plus tablets on the market. These are all rumors at this point but we'll know more in a few days when CES 2013 kicks off. So stay tuned.
