T-Mobile is ready to kick off the new year with a brand new refreshing deal for its subscribers.
Per reports, the carrier company is set to launch an unlimited 4G prepaid data plan on Jan. 9, with the new plan being priced at $70 a month. This will now provide interested users the first 5GB of data at 4G speed.
The new $70 Unlimited plan will be replacing the current $70 Unlimited talk/text and 5GB data plan. "The introduction of this plan shows T-Mobile's continued efforts to remain serious about their prepaid offerings, now their biggest growth driver. With the addition of MetroPCS' customers later in the year, T-Mobile's Monthly4G offerings are likely to take an even bigger piece of the pie as at least some of those customers are likely to jump onto T-Mobile's no-contract offering," a TmoNews report states.
The new offer seems to be a pretty fair deal for someone who is already paying for a 5GB soft cap on the data, and will now allow users to make use of as many bytes as they like at full HSPA+ speeds. Currently T-Mobile's non-unlimited plans (the company still refers to it as 'unlimited' in some instances) are pulled down to 2G EDGE speeds when the monthly cap is reached by the user.
T-Mobile already offers a plan with 5GB of data at 4G speeds for $30 per month, with the only catch being that the company only offers 100 minutes, which, of course, comes alongside the unlimited text messaging. However, this particular plan is also limited to customers who acquired it through T-Mobile's Web site or Walmart. The other $50 monthly plan only offers the first 100MB at 4G speeds.
This is a major development on the part of T-Mobile after it was previously reported that the company's retail stores would be carrying the hard-to-find Nexus 4. The Nexus 4 sales hit a major block previously when it was hit with supply issues as more and more consumers felt the urge to own one.
"The Google Nexus 4 will launch in all T-Mobile retail locations in January. The Play Store will continue to carry the Nexus 4," the report stated.
