Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphones have been in the market for a while now and HTC Windows Phone 8X is one of the most popular WP8 devices around. The HTC 8X is available on major Canadian carriers and now Rogers is selling the 8GB version of HTC 8X for $.0.01 on a three-year contract.

The HTC 8X features a 4.3-inch super LCD 2 touch screen with 1280 x 720 HD 720p resolution and 342 pixels per inch (ppi). The screen of the smartphone is protected by Gorilla Glass 2. A Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5GHz powers the handset. The HTC 8X measures 5.21 x 2.61 x 0.40 inch and weighs 4.59 ounces.

The HTC 8X features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing snapper. An 1800mAh battery fuels the smartphone.

With not many WP8 phones on offer now, Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung ATIV S are currently the biggest competitors of the HTC 8X. Rogers is selling the 32GB version of Lumia 920 for $49.99 and the 16GB version of ATIV S for $79.99 on a three-year contract. However, the latest $0.01 offer from Rogers may divert potential buyers to the HTC 8X.

Rogers is also offering the 16GB version of the HTC 8X for $29.99 on a three-year contract and with free shipping. Potential customers can buy the HTC 8X from Rogers in either black or blue variants. However, with Canadian carrier Bell selling the 16GB version of the HTC 8X for free on a three-year contract, it will be interesting to see if Rogers is able to divert more customers to its network.
