With phablet market gaining acceptance thanks to the Samsung Galaxy Note line of Android devices, many phone manufacturers are taking notice. One such manufacturer is ZTE, which is gearing up to show off its 5.7-inch phablet at CES 2013.
ZTE has been slowly making a name for itself in the mobile arena with affordable feature phones and smartphones. The Chinese company does not yet have a strong presence in Europe and the U.S.; however, with products like the P945 Android phablet, things could change for ZTE in the long run.
According to the UnWired View, the ZTE P945 packs a 5.7-inch 720p HD, a super-fast 1.2GHz quad core processor, a solid 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a1-megapixel fromt-facing camera, and a huge 3,000mAh that should last a full day without charge along with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Some Android users may find it disappointing that this device is launching with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich instead of Jelly Bean. ZTE did not mention if and when Jelly Bean or Key Lime Pie would ever make contact with the P945 after it goes on sale. Furthermore, some users may skip this for the ZTE Grand S, a far more powerful phablet but with a 5-inch FHD display.
The ZTE P945 will no doubt give the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 a run for its money in China. Right now there are no plans to distribute the device outside of the mainland, but if it does well, ZTE may feel compelled to try its luck in territories such as Europe and the U.S.
