Joining the league of LG, Sony, and Samsung, Toshiba unveiled its series of 4K TVs at a pre-CES event in Las Vegas.
Toshiba showed its new L9300 series will have 58-inch, 65-inch, and 84-inch sets of Ultra HD 4K TVs at private press event.
The TVs will have CEVO 4K quad- and dual-core processor, which will convert standard 1080 pixel content to the 4K resolution.
The L9300 series of TVs mark Toshiba's entry into the U.S. 4K TV market, and will be available from this summer.
Those who are unaware of the terms like 4K TV or Ultra HDs, these TVs have four times the resolution of the 1080p TVs in the current market. The four-fold increase in the resolution makes content more crisp and brighter than usual HDTV display.
As far as the looks of the TVs are concerned, all the models will have an ultra-slim bezel and gun metal trim and stand.
Talking about the qualities which make Toshiba's new TVs different from other 4K TVs, Toshiba's VP of product marketing and development, Scott Ramirez, indicated towards the image quality.
"What Toshiba brings is experience in image processing. We're taking a 1080p image, restoring it up to an Ultra HD level as well as upscaling it all the same time using our proprietary CEVO 4K Quad+Dual Core Processor - a quad core processor with two extra cores," he said.
Sony and LG already have their 84-inch 4K TVs in market. Last year, Samsung had also announced that by going one step further it will be releasing its 85-inch 4K TV at the CES-2013.
This 84-inch, 4K TV from LG won this year's CES Innovation Award. The TV packs 8 million pixels and refines living room entertainment, thanks to a combination of CINEMA 3D technology and Smart TV features, and carries a price tag of $19,999.
