Released in September 2012, the iPhone 5 is still one of the most popular smartphones around; however, the battery of the iPhone 5 is relatively small when compared to its rivals. Several third-party vendors offer iPhone 5 battery cases that extend the battery life of the smartphone. Among them, the uNu DX Protective Battery Case for iPhone 5 claims to double the battery life of the smartphone.

"uNu's DX Protective iPhone 5 Battery Case is the successor of its No.1 selling iPhone 4s battery cases on Amazon.com, which offers your iPhone a true 100% battery boost and ultra portable protection," says the product description of uNu DX Protective Case.

The new DX features a powerful 2300mAh battery core, which provides an additional 10 hours talk time to the iPhone 5. The design of the charging circuit is optimized to charge your iPhone 5 at 1A / 5W speed. The ergonomic and sleek style of 15mm thickness allows the DX case to protect the iPhone 5 and still keeping the original design of the smartphone.

"Coupled with the included bonus screen protector, and protective lip that goes above the screen, the protection offered by the New DX case will never be compromised," says uNu's Web site.

You can charge your iPhone 5 even with the DX Protective Battery Case on. Additionally, the case also synchronizes with the iPhone 5 and transforms the Lightning port on the iPhone 5 to a more commonly used standard micro-USB port located at the bottom of the DX case.

The DX Protective Battery Case is available in both black and white colors for $79.99 directly from uNu's Web site. uNu also offers a similar battery case for the iPhone 4/4S.
