Amazon Kindle

Reading gives you knowledge, reading electrifies the brain, and reading is, well, stimulating. If you love to read eBooks, then your best option on a Windows Phone 8 device would be the Amazon Kindle application. Purchase your favorite books on Amazon like Stephen Kings Dark Tower series, or some other genre of books that appeal to you, and read them right on your beloved Windows Phone 8 device.

The app is free, but the books are not, so keep that in mind.

Easily the best YouTube application on the Windows Phone 8 platform. Google may be showing little love for the Windows Phone platform where YouTube is concerned, but that isn't stopping the MetroTube developers from delivering a satisfying app to watch all our favorite whacky videos, and the occasional weirdness that can only be found on YouTube.

WeatherBug

A smartphone is not a smartphone without a weather application, that's smartphone ownership rule # 1. The best weather app to be had on Windows Phone 8 right now is WeatherBug, an app that allow users to know local and international weather.
