If you are reading this, then there is a high chance you recently bought a Nokia Lumia 920, a HTC 8X, or a Lumia 820 and are out seeking some good applications to grace your handset. Windows Phone 8 devices come with some neat pre-installed applications that are bound to keep you busy for a while, but you'll need a lot more to make yourself look cool to your friends and family.
Here are some WP8 apps that we think are pretty cool.
Tom & Jerry
What is best family-oriented cartoon ever made? That's right, Tom & Jerry. We've all watched this cartoon when we were younger and some of us are still watching it up to this day. With this Tom & Jerry application, users will be able to watch all the classic episodes in crisp HTML5. This is nostalgia at its finest.
Reading gives you knowledge, reading electrifies the brain, and reading is, well, stimulating. If you love to read eBooks, then your best option on a Windows Phone 8 device would be the Amazon Kindle application. Purchase your favorite books on Amazon like Stephen Kings Dark Tower series, or some other genre of books that appeal to you, and read them right on your beloved Windows Phone 8 device.
The app is free, but the books are not, so keep that in mind.
The Internet is a great place to find whatever you want, ranging from information to that new camera you desire. So, what better place to look for it than eBay? The popular e-retail site where everyone around the world is able to sell and purchase stuff. With so many folks selling on eBay, it is likely that the thing you desire is availale and selling for a very reasonable price too.
Just remember that eBay also sells used goods, so be careful when purchasing.
Easily the best YouTube application on the Windows Phone 8 platform. Google may be showing little love for the Windows Phone platform where YouTube is concerned, but that isn't stopping the MetroTube developers from delivering a satisfying app to watch all our favorite whacky videos, and the occasional weirdness that can only be found on YouTube.
A smartphone is not a smartphone without a weather application, that's smartphone ownership rule # 1. The best weather app to be had on Windows Phone 8 right now is WeatherBug, an app that allow users to know local and international weather. The best feature here is probably live weather cameras; it produces the latest images of the current condition for a particular city.
