Fans of the popular Microsoft-made digital photo analyzing app for Windows Phone, Photosynth, are set for some good news.
Per reports, a brand new Photosynth app meant for the users of Windows Phone 8, according to the developers, is arriving in just a few weeks.
The Photosynth app is already available to users of iOS and Android, and also Windows Phone 7.5, as far as WP-based devices are concerned. The app made its way to Windows Phone 7.5 users back in May last year.
At that time, the company stated that the Photosynth app "for Windows Phone feels like magic. Start it up, move the camera around, and watch your panorama fill in. Make a 360 revolution and watch it join up. Capture the floor and ceiling too. When you're done the shots are automatically stitched together, and the results are beautiful and immersive."
Moreover, while the earlier version of the app for Windows Phone 7.5 users saw a lot of popularity among several WP7.5-based owners, the same is yet again expected with the arrival of the same app on the newly revealed Windows Phone 8.
"Photosynth for WP8 slipped due to problems with drivers on a few important phones. Mostly behind us now. Release should be weeks away," the official Twitter page states.
Based on Twitter, the Photosynth development team explained that the lack of Windows Phone 8 Photosynth thus far has been due to the significant driver compatibility issues with a number of Windows Phone 8 handsets. However, the team didn't hurry up the release just for the sake of it and release a faulty version, which would definitely attract criticism from fans and users, and are working to provide a fault-free app that would reflect the previous glories of it on Windows Phone 7.5.
Previously, there was a bit of problem with the then Photosynth app for Windows Phone 7.5 when it was reported that the app would not run on 256MB devices, and would require 512MB RAM or better. However, no such problem should appear now as the current generation Windows Phone 8-based smartphones already meet the minimum requirements for the app.
At the moment, there's no word as to which phones are causing all the headaches for the development team, but more on this is expected to follow as soon as the app is provided with a final release date.
