LG Electronics and Google, which are in headlines for their business collaboration and the Nexus devices, did not any mobile devices at recently concluded International CES in Las Vegas. The move can be termed as the 'clam before the storm.'
Observing the recent developments in the corridors of the two companies and their growing chemistry, it seems a brand new and benchmark product is going to be unwrapped with in some days.
CES and Mobile World Congress (MWC) are the two biggest technology exhibitions where most of the mobile manufacturers display their upcoming products. Since CES of this year is over and MWC is more mobile-friendly show, Google must have given some time to Nexus 5 release. The move (if it is in the company's plan) can give the device and opportunity to grab more headlines and get more coverage at the MWC to be held in Barcelona in February this year.
Senior Vice President of LG, James Fisher, in his conference during the CES had hinted that the collaboration of LG and Google will bring more devices and at the MWC people will get to see "tier-one premium handsets."
At Mobile World Congress next month and throughout the year, you'll see us bring to market more tier-one premium handsets in various screen sizes," he said.
He had also thrown a hint about the upcoming device in Nexus series, which of course will be name Nexus 5.
"Through our collaboration with Google, we launched the LG Nexus 4 smartphone. This is the first of many devices to come from our growing partnership with this very selective company," he said at the CES.
As there are increasing reports of LG bringing the production of Nexus 4 to a halt, rumors have already started coming in about the 'next-month' release of Nexus 5.
Many of them have already suggested that the device will run on Android 4.5 Key Lime Pie, and will have a powerful 2GHz quad core processor.
