Fans of the Nokia Lumia who have been eagerly awaiting for the Portico update to arrive for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 are in for some good news. A Nokia community manager has let on via the Nokia Forums that the "performance enhancement" Portico software update is now rolling out.
Community manager Michaels disclosed that the over-the-air (OTA) software update is being pushed out in phases for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 and will "continue in a phased manner" over the next few weeks.
"A Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 software update providing performance enhancements for the Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920 has started rolling out over the air. Delivery will continue in a phased manner over the coming weeks and is expected to be complete by mid-March. You will receive a notification on your phone when the update is available for you to download," noted the Nokia community manager.
Nokia did not let on exactly what the "performance enhancements" are. However, it is expected that the Portico update will bring enhancements in Messaging, including the ability to "Select All" for mass deletion of texts, text replies to incoming calls, improvements to Internet Explorer, better Bluetooth connection, improved start-up sequence, as well as enhancements in battery management.
