Samsung is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it retains its status as the smartphone market leader in 2013. The Korean company is on song to add to its ever-growing Galaxy portfolio of devices, and is gearing up to launch a 5.8-inch smartphone, dubbed the Galaxy Fonblet (you heard that right - not Phablet, Fonblet).
The Galaxy Fonblet, codenamed GT-I9152, is going to be announced "soon," per reports. SamMobile has got a tip off from an "insider" who has disclosed that the Fonblet is similar to the Galaxy Player 5.8, a media player, that is currently available in Samsung's home terrain South Korea.
"Remember the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8? Today we can confirm that Samsung will announce one of them for Europe. The only difference is that this time it's NOT a media player, it is a smartphone! According to the latest information from our insider Samsung will soon announce the Galaxy Fonblet 5.8 (GT-I9152)," reported SamMobile.
According to the site's sources, the Galaxy Fonblet or GT-I9512 will be a dual-SIM smartphone and sport a massive 5.8-inch display, which is similar to that of the Galaxy Player 5.8. The smartphone will be released in a "Pure White" color in Europe and is expected to run Android 4.1.2 or Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
Earlier in December 2012, Samsung had registered the Fonblet trademark, so there's a strong likelihood that the GT-I9512 will make an appearance soon.
Will the MWC 2013 mark the Fonblet's debut? We will just have to wait and watch.
