The company with the Midas touch, Apple, is conjectured to launch a slew of iDevices in 2013, including the follow-ups to its iPhone 5, iPad 4, and iPad mini.
Apple's product line-up for 2013 is also said to include a new smaller version of the iPhone, dubbed the iPhone mini or iPhone 5 mini.
Recently, KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed his thoughts on impending Apple products. Kuo also asserted that Apple will keep the biggest product announcements for summer and fall.
Now designer Martin Hajek, who is famous for his iPhone 5 concept designs, has come up with a mock-up of Apple's supposed product line-up for 2013. Martin's 3D renderings are "based on rumors on the internet." Hajek even has a red version of the iPad mini and an all blue iFamily.
"Phone 5 mini is using the same size screen as the iPhone 4/4S but with the design language of iPhone 5.iPhone 5S and iPad mini 2 in colours...could be cool! And the iPad 5 with the same design languag as iPad mini would make perfect sense. Right?," notes Hajek.
Here's a look at Hajek's vision of the concept devices.
iPhone 5S
Rumor has it that the iPhone 5S will release in summer close to Apple's WWDC 2013 event. While some believe that the next-gen Apple phone will be called iPhone 6, analysts like Kuo and Brian White opine that the smartphone will be iPhone 5S.
The concept design image from Hajek shows one of the major leaps for iPhone, a change in color. White is of the opinion that Apple will launch the iPhone 5S in multiple colors and sizes, which will be a first for the iPhone line-up, which currently boasts of only white and black models.
"Our checks indicate that the next iPhone will have more choices for customers. This entails an expansion in both the color patterns and screen sizes with the next iPhone (i.e., likely called the iPhone 5S) that we currently believe will be launched in May/June with certain supply production starting in March/April," noted White.
iPhone 5 mini
The iPhone 5 mini in Hajek's mock-up is physically the size of the 3.5-inch iPhone 4S; however, design-wise it is more like the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 mini is in all probability the cheaper iPhone option that is being rumored of late, and has the tech pundits in a tizzy.
According to Kuo, Apple would look to price an unlocked version of the iPhone mini in the $350 to $450 range. Another analyst, Sameer Singh believes that the iPhone mini would be priced in the $299 to $349 range.
iPad 5
Word's on the street that Apple will launch the next-gen iPad 5 in March this year, barely few months after its iPad 4 was released in October 2012.
The iPad 5 is rumored to employ Sharp's IGZO display and will be thinner and lighter than the current version. Speculations are rife that the iPad 5 will adopt the design of the iPad mini. It will likely have an aluminum back and smaller bezels. Chances are that the iPad 5 may even see a new processor that outpaces the A6X.
iPad mini 2
Apple is also speculated to launch the iPad mini successor, dubbed iPad mini 2, in March this year. Rumors point to a Retina Display, an upgraded processor, and more RAM.
