T-Mobile is reportedly planning for a four-week long "blackout" period in the coming months, fueling rumors that the company is prepping for the launch of the iPhone.
The four-week blackout period, per a TMo News report, will begin in the last two weeks of March and last till first two weeks of April. Basically, during this time T-Mobile employees will not get any vacation, which hints that the carrier is gearing up for a big event.
"Word on the T-Mobile street is that the company is planning for a "blackout" period for the last two weeks of March and first two weeks of April. Why? All signs continue to point to a possible iPhone launch as well as a transition into a Value Plan only environment," reported TMo News.
Currently, T-Mobile does not offer the iPhone 5 and CEO John Legere had mentioned that the company would begin selling the smartphone "sooner rather than later."
Additionally, T-Mobile is also believed to be gearing up for a Valentine's Day sale. Currently, it is not known what the carrier will be offering and the exact dates of the sale. A strong possibility exists that T-Mobile will look to push its top-of-the-line offerings like the Galaxy S3, Nexus 4, and Galaxy Note 2, as well as the new Value Plan.
"It should come as no surprise as a new rumor that just dropped into my inbox tells me T-Mobile is planning a Valentine's Day sale. Considering T-Mobile's regular schedule for Valentine's sales, this rumor seems like a sure thing. Unfortunately, we don't have any details to go on - but smart money would have us believe any sale would likely be focused on Value Plan offerings," noted TMo News' David Beren.
With Valentine's Day a few weeks away, we will soon know what T-Mobile has up its sleeve. Whether the carrier finally begins offering the iPhone 5 in March/April; however, remains to be seen.
