Research In Motion (RIM) is all set for the launch of its latest BlackBerry 10 (BB10) OS later on Jan. 30 and latest reports indicate that the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone will start selling from select Canadian carriers from Feb. 5.
The wait for many BlackBerry fans will finally come to an end as the BB10 OS announced way back in May 2012 will finally launch on Jan. 30 after several delays.
Rumors indicate that the BlackBerry Z10 will be the first smartphone to pack the latest OS and will share the center stage along with the BB10 OS. Reports suggest that the demo models of the BlackBerry Z10 have already started to make their way to stores, and Canadian carriers Bell and TELUS will start selling the smartphone as early as Feb. 5. Other carriers like Rogers may start selling the smartphone soon.
"It's being said that the BlackBerry Z10 will arrive at Telus and Bell on February 5th in both black and white models," reported CrackBerry.
The BlackBerry Z10 is expected to sport an all-touch 4.2-inch HD display with 1280 x 768 pixels resolution. The smartphone will also include 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. A powerful 1800 mAh battery is expected to fuel the smartphone.
The BlackBerry Z10 is likely to be equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing snapper and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC capabilities.
Rumors also point to RIM launching a QWERTY keyboard-equipped smartphone, dubbed BlackBerry X10, but the company has not confirmed the smartphone.
Information regarding U.S. release date and carriers are not known. We will have to wait until Jan. 30 when RIM will officially take off the curtains from BB10 and likely unveil its BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.
