Google Nexus 4, made in collaboration with LG, is undoubtedly one of the most wanted smartphones around. Released only in a handful of countries in November last year, the device is soon making its official debut in Saudi Arabia amidst global supply constraints.
The official Facebook page for LG Electronics KSA announced on Saturday, Jan. 26, that the product launch is happening very soon. However, it did not reveal any specific release date or pricing for the Nexus 4 in Saudi Arabia.
The Nexus 4 has been in high demand and has been consistently sold out on the Google Play Store since its release on Nov. 13 last year. The smartphone was sold out just within an hour after the Nexus 4 went on sale online in the UK and the U.S.
The Nexus 4 is also slated to arrive on Canadian carrier Fido in early February, preceded by a launch on Videotron on Jan. 30. South Korean carriers are also expected to sell the smartphone early this year.
"Clearly, there's work to be done managing our supply better, as well as building a great customer experience. And that is a priority for the teams," said Larry Page, CEO Google.
The Nexus 4 is packed with high-end hardware specifications and features. The Nexus 4 sports a 4.7-inch WXGA IPS display covered in Gorilla Glass 2. Under the hood it packs in a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 2GB of RAM, 8GB/16GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter. It runs on the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and costs $299(8GB) and $349 (16GB).
If Google plans to launch Nexus 4 in more countries, then the company should also improve the supply of the smartphone in existing markets. We will have to wait and see how swiftly Google is able to get the supply problem of the smartphone sorted out.
