Ever since Apple began the trend of offering smartphone models in white, many companies, including Google, have followed its lead. A leaked picture has now popped up showing a Nexus 4 in that trendy color.
When Apple released the successor to the original iPhone, it released the iPhone 3G in two color options, black and white. Since then, it has become common practice for smartphone manufacturers to also launch a smartphone in white as the color has proven to be a very popular choice among buyers. It now appears that Google and LG could possibly be launching a Nexus 4 in that very popular white color.
Phonearena has received a picture from an anonymous source which shows a Nexus 4 in new clothing - in all-white. They have run the photograph under a few tests including FotoForensics and they claim that the picture does not appear to be photoshopped. The picture of the white Nexus 4 even clearly shows the distinct reflective pattern on the back of the device which matches the current black model. They have no idea if the picture is actually really a white Nexus 4 or just created to get people's hopes up of an impending white Nexus 4.
Google and LG can't even keep up with demand of the black Nexus 4, so would they actually begin manufacturing a white model? If they do, I have a sneaking suspicion that we might see this as a Mobile World Congress launch. Hopefully by that time Google and LG will have a better grip on manufacturing all versions of the Nexus 4.
Could that also be part of the reason that the Nexus 4 is finally available for purchase again in the Google Play Store? Let's hope so!
