Apple is working on a new Mac Pro which it plans to launch this spring, claims a French Apple Reseller. Apple has been quite reserved about its European Mac Pro plans and it was reported that the tech giant may discontinue selling the device in Europe due to regulatory changes.
However, according to one of its European resellers, France Systems, Apple is ready to ship a new line of Mac Pro systems within months. In a newsletter sent to customers, France Systems said a new range of Mac Pro will be released in Spring 2013, French Web sites Mac4Ever reports.
As Spring runs from March 20 to June 20 this year (Farmer's Almanac notes), the new computer line from Apple, replacing those being banned in the EU, can be expected sooner than expected.
"We think nevertheless that the stop of the Pro Mac is temporary; Apple informs us that a new range Mac Pro goes out in the spring 2013. We will not hesitate to ship these products to you as early as their introduction," The Mac Observer published a translation of the newsletter (via MacGeneration).
It was just last week that Apple informed its European retailers and distributors that it will stop selling the Mac Pro on March 1 as the system does not meet the EU electrical regulations. According to European Union's safety requirements for computers and electronics, the Apple product design does not meet the amended regulations, specifically related to its fan and electrical port. The news of a new line of products will ease concerns over the fear of Apple abandoning the European desktop computer market.
When Ars Technica inquired about its Mac Pro launch plans, Apple declined to comment on the France Systems claims, rather pointed to its CEO's previous comments that a new model would come 'later' in the year.
Apple has not initiated any major upgrade to Mac Pro in the last two years apart from some minor tweaks last year. Although rumors were ripe about a major update to the Mac Pro in 2011, they remained just rumors as Apple did nothing to its Mac Pro line.
