It's only been a few weeks since we first saw the LG Optimus G Pro leak online. The smartphone we saw featured a 5-inch screen and was headed to NTTDocomo in Japan. A new variant of the phone has leaked and it's packing a 5.5-inch Full HD 1920 X 1080 screen.
LG is getting serious about the phablet world as it gets ready to release both a 5-inch and 5.5-inch LG Optimus G Pro smartphone. The new 5.5-inch smartphone is expected to be announced this month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The event runs from Feb. 25 through Feb. 28.
Phonearena has posted a picture of the smartphone along with specs it received from its source. LG is certainly upping the ante in terms of the specs it's offering with this new Optimus G Pro variant.
The smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS-LCD 1920 x 1080 display, a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon with LTE radio, 2 GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 32GB of internal storage. microSD slot for microSD cards up to 64GB, and a large 3,140 mAh battery.
This device will be positioned to go up against phablets like Sony's Xperia Z, HTC's M7, and Samsung's Galaxy Note 3. There has been no word on an expected release date, pricing, or carrier information. We'll get to know the full details when LG takes the wraps off of its latest phablet.
