Metal Slug 2 is the classic 2D action-shooting game first released in 1998 for the MVS arcade platform, and later re-released for the Wii's Virtual Console in North America in December 2008 for 900 Wii Points.

“The second chapter of the acclaimed run-and-gun action shooting series, "METAL SLUG 2" launches on Android,” the official page states. “Thwart General Morden's evil ambition, and uncover the secret of his new coup!!”

The app’s biggest plus point is that it’s the perfect port of the original Neo-Geo game. Moreover, apart from its classic Arcade Mode, this perfect port of Metal Slug 2 also includes a Mission Mode that allows the player to select the stage he wants to play in. This is something similar to the first and third games.

There are also new playable characters, to assist the player, in the form on “2 female recruits, Eri, a former super agent, and, Fio, the heir of a military family,” who will now join the Regular Army's PF Squad Marco and Tarma, in order to put a stop to General Morden's evil plans. Moreover, the player “will be supported during your mission by a heroic prisoner who will fight alongside you once freed, and a volunteer who will provide you with bonus items!”

Fans and players, this time, will also be treated to new weapons and slugs to fight their way through and survive. The already amazing arsenal of Metal Slug will now expand with the arrival of new weapons such as the Laser Shot, Flame Bottles, and a boatload of new slug vehicles such as the Slugnoid (a bipedal tank), the "Slug Flyer" (fighter plane), and more.

The "Camel Slug", where a camel is equipped with a Vulcan Cannon, will also be available for those who play the game’s Desert Stage.

Another important addition to the app is precise and customizable weapons. “The Autofire function allows you to fire your weapons continuously by holding down the Shot button. Moreover, you can reposition the buttons outside of the game screen area in “Window” Mode. Enjoy every pixel of “METAL SLUG 2” with your very own custom controls,” the official press release states.
