Google's much-touted Nexus 4 smartphone and the Google Now feature shared the spotlight with the celebrities in their designer threads at the 55th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
Google aired a new commercial for its Nexus 4 and Google Now during the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 10. The new ad from Google is one minute long and highlights the Google Now feature, which is showcased on the LG-made Nexus 4 smartphone.
For the uninitiated, Google Now is a personal assistant for Android, an extension of the Google Search app, which enables users to gain access to the latest information with ease. The feature was first introduced in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
"Google Now gets you just the right information at just the right time. It tells you today's weather before you start your day, how much traffic to expect before you leave for work, when the next train will arrive as you're standing on the platform, or your favorite team's score while they're playing. And the best part? All of this happens automatically. Cards appear throughout the day at the moment you need them," notes the description.
The Google ad shows how Google Now can benefit users in daily life. The commercial shows a mother checking the weather on her Nexus 4 smartphone before taking her child to school, a commuter checks how long it would take before public transport gets her to work. The ad also highlights features like translation and restaurant reviews.
The video concludes with "The right information, at just the right time."
With the new ad, Google aims to make people aware of its Google Now feature, which many older Android handset users may not be aware of. Check out the commercial below.
