The HTC One (formerly known as the HTC M7) was announced Tuesday Feb. 19 by HTC as its latest flagship smartphone.

HTC wraps the HTC One in a machined-aluminum unibody design, a 4.7-inch 468 ppi (pixels per inch) 1080p Super LCD 3 display protected by Gorilla Glass 2, 1.7GHz Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 600, 2GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal memory, 2GB of RAM, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (near field communications), Ultrapixel camera, Android 4.1.2, HTC Sense 5, 2,300mAh battery and is available in a choice of "stunning silver" or "beautiful black."

HTC is really focusing on the HTC One's camera capabilities. The HTC One introduces a new camera technology it calls the HTC Ultrapixel Camera. The Ultrapixel camera redefines how people capture, relive and share moments. HTC's custom camera includes a best-in-class f/2.0 aperture lens and a breakthrough sensor with UltraPixels that gather 300 percent more light than traditional smartphone camera sensors.

This new approach delivers astounding low-light performance and a variety of other improvements to photos and videos. The HTC One features a front-facing camera which supports 1080p video capture. Multi-axis optical image stabilization for both the front and rear cameras also helps ensure smoother video footage whether stationary or on the move. The HTC UltraPixel camera adds many other features and effects, such as enhanced 360-foot panorama, time sequencing and object removal.

HTC BlinkFeed is a personal live stream found on the home screen of the HTC One. HTC BlinkFeed allows you to see a live stream of personally relevant information such as social updates, entertainment and lifestyle updates, news and photos and more. HTC BlinkFeed allows you to see what's happening in your world right on the home screen, so you never need to open up a separate application to access the information.

HTC includes Beats Audio and a new HTC feature called BoomSound, described as the best audio experience found on any mobile phone. The HTC One is also the first smartphone to introduce front-facing stereo speakers with a dedicated amplifier. The HTC One will ship with HTC Sense TV, which transforms the HTC One into an interactive program guide and universal remote control.

HTC announced that the HTC One will be available in March globally on more than 185 carriers. In the U.S. the HTC One is headed to AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Pricing has not been announced, but it will likely be $199 and $299 with a new two-year contract.
