The Tuesday Feb. 19 announcement of the HTC One Android-based smartphone has gotten Nokia all riled up and ready for serious competition. The HTC device, which incorporates Optical Image Stabilization similar to the Lumia 920, could prove to be a problem for Nokia in the months to come.
Nokia, probably foreseeing the damage the HTC One could cause to its bottom line, tweeted a photo of its Lumia 920 titled "One phone to rule them all" not long after HTC announced its new handset. Being an Android device, one can be sure that the HTC One is likely to perform a lot better when compared to the Lumia 920, mainly due Android's massive ecosystem.
Nokia would not be too pleased with such an outcome. Imagine how it would feel to be the first to bring OIS to market, only for another competitor to come along and steal your thunder completely by selling more devices with OIS.
The only true option Nokia has at this point is to counter with a new and more powerful Lumia. Maybe the rumored Nokia EOS with a 41- megapixel sensor is the device being primed to go up against these Android powerhouses.
