If you always wished your phone could carry two SIM cards for more connectivity and more options, then your wait is almost over.
Sony, in the news lately for its Xperia Z, is now rolling out an entry-level device under the same brand name Xperia: Sony Xperia E Dual, which was first launched in UK and Germany, is now available on pre-order in the U.S. for $199.99.
The device reportedly will reach customers by March 1, and Sony will pay the shipping bill.
The device has a nice setup of switching between SIM cards with just an easy touch. The Xperia E Dual has a 3.5-inch (320 x 480) display, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 1500 mAh battery and 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera.
The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and can be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean later. The smartphone is available in two colors, black and gold. The USP of this entry-level smartphone from Sony is its dual SIM connectivity.
The dual SIM cards technology lets you separate your work from play, and at the same time you can save money by handling your calls. The phone also lets you do it without any hassle, in just one motion. You can switch between the two SIM cards anytime with a simple touch.
If you want a particular SIM card to be used at a specific time or date, you can always go ahead and preset the timings and the date according to your use.
"One phone, two accounts. Get the ability to manage two wireless accounts from one device with dual SIM card capability. Plus, avoid running into data overage charges or out of battery life with an app that monitors both," Sony says in a statement about the Xperia E Dual.
