Users of Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX have been waiting for Jelly Bean update for a long time in the U.S, especially after the Christmas Eve when many of them got a glimpse of the update.
However, it has become somehow official that the users of these two devices will not have to wait for very long time.
If we go by the Motorola support page, which was updated and given a completely new look by the company recently, the Jelly Bean update for these two devices is going to come in the first quarter of this year.
As we are already running into the second month of the first quarter, it might be just a matter of some weeks when the long wait will come to an end.
Motorola has already rolled out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for other devices under its RAZR series. Motorola's RAZR HD, RAZR MAXX HD, and RAZR M are already running on Jelly Bean.
Other devices like Droid Bionic, Droid 4, and Motorola Xoom will also be getting the Jelly Bean update, but the release date of the update has not been disclosed as of now.
When it comes to UK, Motorola is not sure about the release of Jelly Bean update for RAZR and RAZR MAXX.
One the selection of one of the two devices, the site states, "This device will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)."
Other European markets like Germany and France are also going to see the same situation like UK's where the update's arrival has not been scheduled so far.
On last year's Christmas Eve, someone from Motorola reportedly pushed the Jelly Bean updated for RAZR users, but it was taken off the site swiftly and the download of the update failed on almost all the devices.
With the accidental release of the update some hackers got down to their work and found a way to root the latest firmware.
According to a report from Android Police, noted security researcher Dan Rosenberg found a successful root method for Motorola Droid RAZR and MAXX's 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA, which began rolling out last Christmas Eve. At that time, users reported that the original Droid RAZR (and also RAZR MAXX) was getting an update roll out that would upgrade the device to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.2).
