The new Portico update for Windows Phone devices is out and about for several handsets, after the Verizon Lumia 822 had been overlooked. This is no longer the case.
The new update is being pushed out in stages, which means not every owner of a Lumia 822 on Verizon will get the update on the same day. When the update comes your way, you will be notified via your Lumia letting you know there's an update to be had. Portico for the Lumia 822 is expected to be OTA, which means the update should be able to be downloaded and installed via the smartphone itself.
Windows Phone 8 Portico update brings to the table some new features for Lumia 822 owners. Messaging is improved, which allows users to add multiple recipients when sending messages. Another cool feature is the ability to send a reply text to an incoming call, a great way to alert someone that you are busy and not able to take the call.
When it comes down to browsing, there are a few improvements to Internet Explorer. Users can now prevent images from loading to keep data usage as low as possible. Now users will have the ability to favorite Wi-Fi connections so the phone would prioritize when in range.
