Many people are waiting for Google and Motorola's next joint product with so much of anticipation, however, Google's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President doesn't think anything like that.
Google CFO, Patrick Pichette, says that Google doesn't find Motorola's near future product line impressive.
Pichette admitted the 'fact' during his speech at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference. "We've inherited 18 months of pipeline that we actually have to drain right now, while we're actually building the next wave of innovation and product lines," The Verge quoted Pichette as saying.
According to Pichette, the current pipeline of products from Motorola "not really to the standards that what Google would say is wow - innovative, transformative."
He also says that in order to build better and innovative products, Google will have to drain the 18 months of pipeline that it inherited from Motorola.
Although users are quite happy with Motorola's recent devices such as Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR M, Google has something completely different for its devices.
If we go by the 18-month limit, the products will be over by November this year, and we might be able to see the devices that could 'wow' Google after that.
Pichette's statement has put those in dilemma who were waiting impatiently for Motorola's X phone.
So far, nothing has been confirmed by Motorola or Google about the device, but rumors suggest that the smartphone could arrive by mid May this year.
Going by the rumored specifications, many speculate that the Motorola X phone will be something that can give a tough competition to the smartphones from Samsung, Apple, HTC and Nokia.
Motorola X phone is said to be running on Android's latest version Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, and that makes it the most advanced smartphone among other competitors.
Rumors also have it that the X phone might be making entry at this year's Google I/O, and if it really does then it's not a 'pure' Google product.
According to Pichette's statement, Google's "own kind of work" is not going to come out before the 18 months are over. And if the X phone makes an appearance at Google I/O, it might be Motorola's product with some involvement from Google's side.
Whatever is going on between Google and Motorola, the buzz over the Internet about the Motorola X phone shows that how eager the fans of Motorola are to see the Motorola X phone.
