HTC One X users are finally set for some good news as far as a new refresh is concerned.
Per reports, the popular HTC One X has now started receiving the highly anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, and it is to be noted that all the users of the device subscribed to AT&T are the only ones currently entitled to get the update.
The fact that the Jelly Bean refresh would eventually head over to all the HTC One X users subscribed to AT&T was earlier revealed when AT&T posted on its blog about the update, but later removing the post abruptly.
After that, although it became unclear if the update was still forthcoming, or if that announcement had been made a bit prematurely, with users wondering whether they would have to wait before the software's release, the new report has finally ended all those speculation, especially due to the fact that AT&T itself has confirmed the push out.
The update will not only bring the expected features along with it expected to arrive with a normal Jelly Bean update, but also a few more new features that are exclusive only to the AT&T subscribers.
The company is pushing out a few new apps for the subscribers like AT&T Locker that will allow the user to automatically store photos, videos and documents securely in the cloud, so that he or she can access and share it from their smartphone or computer.
There's also the AT&T DriveMode, meant to help the user restrain from texting while driving. The app can be set-up to automatically send a customizable reply to incoming messages once a vehicle starts moving 25 mph.
"The auto-reply message is similar to an 'out-of-office alert' and can reply to texts, emails and wireless callers letting your friends know that you are driving and unable to respond," the company states.
Finally, there is the AT&T Messages that displays all of user's texts, calls, and voicemail messages together in a single inbox, easily accessible from a computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
"The HTC One X is also Isis capable. With Isis, users can easily upload payment and loyalty cards to a convenient and secure app. They can then use the One X to make payments by tapping their phone at participating retailers. Isis Mobile Wallet is currently trialing in Austin and Salt Lake City," the page adds.
To access the update on the One X while connected to Wi-Fi, select 'Applications', 'Settings', 'About phone' and 'Check for Updates', then follow the on-screen instructions.
