Since the first time images of the HTC One was leaked on the Web, there was a high sense of optimism and anticipation as to what the new offering the HTC would arrive this time. Needless to say, the company has done quite well with the HTC One, and AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint in the U.S. are all set to carry to device. However, what about the possibilities of the device on Verizon?
Per reports, a brand new leak that has been making rounds on the Web state that a new HTC smartphone has appeared in Bluetooth SIG's database and rumors are rife that it could be the HTC One that will be offered via Verizon.
As of now, the HTC One is set to be available in the U.S. via AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint with no information, whatsoever, if the device will also be available via Verizon later (if not now, at least). However, the new leak in Bluetooth SIG's database could point toward a possible HTC One arrival via the Big Red.
The handset in the leak has been identified by its model number - HTC6445LVW, and is clearly the one intended for operation on Verizon. Although the problematic bit is actually working out just which handset the number refers to, there's some solid circumstantial evidence that suggests that it might be the HTC One.
"Over the weekend, a device under the model number HTC6445LVW stopped by Bluetooth SIG to pick up a certification. While there isn't a mention of the codename "DLXPLUS," we're sort of assuming here that it's the same device," Droid Life writes.
"The DROID DNA runs under the model number HTC6435LVW and codename "DLX," so it would make a lot of sense for 6445 to be the next in line. Also, the "VW" in the model number stands for Verizon Wireless, in case you were wondering."
As fans and users will remember, the original Droid DNA was model HTC6435LVW, and so even if the newly leaked HTC device isn't actually the HTC One, it's anybody's guess that the device is from the same lineage as that of the Droid DNA.
While the One is being seen as the most obvious choice, there could be a possibility that the device receives some minor hardware revision and the company successfully maintains that DNA's identity via the new device.
