Any BlackBerry fan who is subscribed to Verizon and looking forward to the highly anticipated BlackBerry Z10 is set for some pretty good news.
U.S.-based mobile network operator Verizon Wireless has announced that the company will start selling the BlackBerry Z10 on March 28 in stores and online, with pre-orders beginning on March 14 at 8AM ET, according to reports.
This is a new build up to the Z10’s arrival after the carrier revealed back in January that the company was planning to sell the Z10 and the keyboard-equipped BlackBerry Q10, and now there’s a detailed launch plan to it.
“The new smartphone will be available online and in Verizon Wireless stores starting March 28. Customers will be able to choose from two color models, Black or White, with White being a Verizon Wireless exclusive,” the official page states.
The Z10 will be running on the new BlackBerry 10 platform that includes the BlackBerry Hub, which is a center for communication that simplifies all of a user’s messages, alongside a keyboard that adapts to their style.
Moreover, Verizon states that the company will be offering the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10 (two global-ready 4G LTE smartphones running BlackBerry 10), and as far as the pricing is concerned, the BlackBerry Z10 will be available for $199.99 with a new two year customer agreement in Black and White color models, with the White model being exclusive to Verizon Wireless.
However, Verizon won't be the first carrier in the United States to offer the BlackBerry 10 smartphone as AT&T recently revealed that it would release the device on March 22 before the Verizon-backed BlackBerry is made available.
What’s interesting to see here is that Verizon is charging $199.99 for the BlackBerry Z10 with a two-year contract, and this is similar to what AT&T is charging for the device as well, and moreover, this puts it at the same price-point as the iPhone 5.
The 4.2-inch BlackBerry Z10 has a dual-core CPU at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage — which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD. The device also sports a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera capable of 1080p video capture and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera capable of 720p video.
