Could this newly leaked image be the rumored Nokia Lumia "Catwalk" device with an aluminum casing? It appears so, and there doesn't seem to be an ounce of polycarbonate on the handset in these shots.
The images appeared on popular Chinese social network, Sina Weibo earlier in the week, and have been confirmed as authentic by WPCentral:
"We have spoken to someone familiar with this alleged device who can confirm that it is indeed, accurate. Because of that we've bumped the rum'o'meter from an initial '5' to an '8' (from an early corroboration) to a '10', meaning we have very high confidence in these images. Whether or not they are early or late prototype, we don't know."
The aluminum design is a shift away from Nokia's iconic polycarbonate design it has been using since the N9 and the Lumia 800. This could be due to the weight of the Lumia 920, which has been pointed out by critics and users alike.
The upcoming device is said to be equipped with similar internals to the Lumia 920 and the rumored Lumia 928 for Verizon Wireless. Leaked specifications suggest the device is packed with a 4.5-inch display, 8.7 megapixel PureView camera, 16GB internal storage, 1GB RAM and a 2,000 mAh non-removable battery.
It is understandable that this device could be heading to T-Mobile for an unknown price and release date. Furthermore, we understand this is device being dubbed the "CatWalk" and not the Lumia 928 as previously reported. The Lumia 928 is called the "Laser," and as said before, it's a Verizon Wireless exclusive handset.
For those on AT&T, there's no word if the carrier has plans to upgrade the Lumia 920 model to one of these new models, similar to what it did with the HTC HD7s in the past.
