After lots of rumors and speculation, the LG Optimus G Pro is finally official: the handset will hit the U.S. market on May 10.
The LG Optimus G Pro will be exclusively available through U.S. mobile carrier AT&T and it will cost $199.99 on a two-year contract with the carrier. Pre-orders start on May 3.
The AT&T version of the LG Optimus G Pro is the same as the version that was already available internationally. It sports a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage expandable via micro SD, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, a 3,140 mAh battery and IR blaster. The handset also comes with the Value Pack update.
With the addition of the LG Optimus G Pro to its lineup, AT&T now offers the three best phones on the market: the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One, and now LG's new flagship. The LG Optimus G Pro is one of the first smartphones to boast the Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip and it runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with some LG customizations.
"LG Optimus G Pro is the ultimate device for creating, viewing and sharing media content, whether it be HD video in full 1080p or high-resolution photos," LG Electronics USA senior vice president of marketing Jamie Fisher touts in the press release. "This device offers a vast collection of features and capabilities for those who want and need the best multitasking functionality."
"The LG Optimus G Pro gives AT&T customers the ability to create and share rich content easily," adds Jeff Bradley, AT&T's senior vice president of devices. "There's no better place to experience that content than exclusively on our 4G LTE network, the nation's fastest."
Those interested in LG's new flagship smartphone can pre-order the LG Optimus G Pro from AT&T starting on May 3, and the carrier also throws in a free Quick Cover black folio case to all pre-order customers, while supplies last.
