It's not been even a year since the launch of LG's Optimus G smartphone and we have started getting rumors about the second flagship device under the Optimus G series.
The LG Optimus G2 has been spotted in benchmark results while being tested for its Android and Bluetooth functions.
According to GSM Arena, the successor of the Optimus G smartphone was spotted in AnTuTu and Bluetooth SIG benchmarks.
The report shows that there are three different devices being tested for the benchmark. The three devices are codenamed F320K, F320L and F340L. While F320K was spotted running on a 1.5 GHz processor, other two devices, F320L and F340L, were spotted running on a 2.0 GHz processor.
We cannot say anything about the 1.5 GHz processor, as the number of processors falling into that category is not too high. However, we can assume that the processor clocked at 2.0 GHz can be Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 800.
It is also possible that the two devices will get LG's own eight-core Odin processor that is expected to be on the market later this year. Odin has a combination of a quad-core A15 CPU and a quad-core A7 CPU.
In February this year, Korea Times had quoted an LG executive saying that the second generation LG Optimus G will be powered by LG's own octa-core Odin processor.
"The processors will be used in LG's next flagship Optimus smartphone — the Optimus GII — which will probably be unveiled in this fall's IFA trade fair,'' the LG official was quoted as saying.
The two devices with heavier processors were seen running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware, while the F320K was running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Other specifications of the smartphone are not yet revealed either in rumors or officially, but there is talk that LG is going to release a smartphone with a flexible display in the fourth quarter this year.
With Samsung running behind schedule for the launch of its smartphone with a flexible display, LG has a chance of becoming the company to bring out the first smartphone with a flexible display.
