The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet is reportedly set to arrive in a new color option sometime in mid-June, presumably in a brown-black finish.
Samsung introduced its new Galaxy Note 8.0 back in late February, during this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC). The tablet was available in only one color at the time — white. Various rumors and reports made the rounds since then, claiming that the new Galaxy Note will become available in additional color options.
A new report now claims the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will get a new color treatment soon. Keep in mind, however, that Samsung made no official announcement in this regard yet, so this remains in the rumor state for the time being.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is expected to arrive in "Brown Black" sometime around week 25 of this year. This would peg the release for mid-June, as week 25 begins on June 17. The slate made no appearance yet in the new color option, but according to SamMobile, the details of this release come from an insider at Samsung Benelux. The new color option will reportedly be available for both the Wi-Fi-only and the 3G-equipped versions.
Aside from getting a new color treatment, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will remain unchanged in terms of specs and features. For those unfamiliar with the slate, the Galaxy Note 8.0 sports an 8.0-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, a quad-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter. Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean runs the show, upgradable to 4.2 Jelly Bean and higher, topped with TouchWiz Nature UX. As expected with a new Galaxy Note device, the tablet also has support for the popular S Pen.
Recent whispers also indicated the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will soon become available in red and grey color options, but with no exact timeframe. This is also in the rumor state, so until the tablet actually hits the market in a new color option, be it brown, red or grey, take things with a grain of salt. Samsung could decide to make an official announcement any time now, so stay tuned.
