It is definitely not the 'next big thing' at the Google I/O 2013, but it is certainly one of the biggest things to get introduced at the ongoing technology event.
The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4's 'Google Version' is happy news for many who always look for something that is pure. The different version of the Galaxy S4 will run stock Android and give the users more space in the phone's internal memory as it is free from manufacturer's UI and preloaded applications.
The smartphone is going to be out for purchase from June 26 and will work on AT&T and T-Mobile's LTE network. The device will be available on Google Play store in 16 GB version for $649 without contract.
The new edition of the Galaxy S4 is being seen as an alternative to the Nexus smartphones as the Nexus products always face very high demand and production and supply related issues.
However, the Nexus smartphones will always be more favorite among people because of their low price and high user experience.
Samsung has not said anything about the new product and it looks like that the Google Version of the Galaxy S4 smartphone will not be available at Samsung stores. Samsung looks to be providing Google only with the smartphone units as the Galaxy S4 is seen as the top horse in running for the best smartphone of the year title.
Meanwhile, many people are questioning the existence of the Google Nexus 5 smartphone.
According to a report from Android Authority, the Galaxy S4's Google Version is the next Nexus.
"Google didn't cancel or postpone the launch of the handset that would be known as the Nexus 5. The Galaxy S4 with pure Android is the Nexus 5. It's quite an ingenious setup, as it brings the best of Android hardware and software all in one place. And the lack of unnecessary software add-ons takes care of the known Galaxy S4 storage problems at the same time," the report added.
